snowshoeing, skiing, and races...

we are only 10 days into february, and it has been full of busy times. i have been on a lot snowshoe tours WHICH I LOVE! been back country skiing a few times, and put on a big nordic race. this picture is on top of valley view loop, the back ground is of... well my back yard. not too bad if you ask me.

some days are colder than others. but this winter has been quite nice, temps down to negative 17* i think is our coldest, but the days the last month or so have gotten into the 30's. its been nice to play in
back country tele skiing on EGO (good name for the run considering it makes you feel like you can ski pretty well) i had a blast. we hit this slope a couple of times last week.
yes mom that sign says "avalanche area" this is where you go into ego, but i didn't ski in the avalanche terrain areas. DON'T WORRY MOM. (but i love you for all the worrying you have done over the years.)
before the nordic race. it started here at the lodge and ended 30k down the road. there were 800 racers in all. YES IT WAS CROWDED! but a great experience to see. erin won first in her division and jawn 2nd in his. he was just a second behind the guy that took first. they both were happy and enjoyed their day.

well life at galena for the winter is over half over in fact in two months i will be out playing in other woods and spending time watching stars from a different angle. i have enjoyed my winter and hope for the rest to be just as good if not better.

to my family. i hope you know how much i love and miss each of you. a special note to canyon river who under went surgery today. know that i pray for you and love you more than ever.
