my spine....

so i know it's not the best picture of this, but i wanted to give you all a quick update on my doctors appointment. (you can click on it to enlarge the picture)

and i quote dr. maria "you are really messed up" not a good way to start my day.

starting with my C1 (cervical ) it is lined up about 3/4 of an inch off (vertically) and about 1 1/2 to 2 inches forward from where it is supposed to be. most likely this is not only due from my back accident but from repetitive whiplashes that i have had over the years. it also most likely is causing some of my headaches. also the fact that i have TMJ, causes headaches as well.

the rib right under my left shoulder blade is not in place and causes some of my neck pain as well.

T5, 6, 7, and 8 (Thoracic) are supposed to be shaped like a slight backwards C curve, like this ) mine looks like ( which is the exact opposite it should be. the nerves lead directly to my stomach (which may have something to do with the issues i have there)

L3, 4, and 5 (lumber) are the vertebra that i originally fractured, they are YEP crunched. the nerves lead to the kidneys and the intestines. im starting to realize everything truly is connected. and right under L5 which should be evenly spaced has a large gap, in between L5 and the sacrum. this might have happened during the accident or when i injured my SI joint.

i am carrying 10 pounds more on my left side then my right, which makes sense since my injury was on the right side. so im not standing up straight EVER.

dr. maria wants to also have me do a saliva test to check for an imbalance of... (can't remember the word) but if i am off most likely that is causing my terrible sleep patterns.

over all the the appointment was a success, i at times felt really overwhelmed with how bad everything sounded, but i was also feeling a bit of hope again. dr. maria said to plan on about 30-40 visits. she does light touch chiropractic, and her hopes is that slowly the spine will realize the correct position it should be in and slowly over time HOPEFULLY will stay in place.

unfortunately my health insurance will not cover even a penny of it, but im thankful to have found dr. maria and happy that i have been saving for THIS RAINY DAY.

she did say to just continue to take it easy, not to push myself in any of the activities that i love. oh well at least i can still get out a play a bit.

okay love you all. be safe and happy

I'm learning more and more each day that there's hardly anyone that isn't "pretty messed up" in one way or the other from this thing we live called life. I'm glad you've got a prognosis though and something to move forward with, and I'll be praying that it works out for you. Keep up the good attitude, but the occasional pity party doesn't hurt, as long as they don't last too long.
