i decided it was now time to work on the loft (i mean storage area, mr. permit man) i pretty much figured i could do all of it on my own but would need help with the big, HUGE overkill beam, (thank you matt and chuck) so cj and spencer came over and got it cut down to size one day for me and then blake and dad came over to help me lift it into place. everything worked out great
it is five feet deep (just enough for a comfy bed, custom book shelve and some storage). im not sure balancing on a four inch wide beam is the best idea, but i needed to take a load off.
next i put in two more floor joist (thank you judy) and then went out to my big pile of lumber with my broom, we have had some snow so first i had to clean off all the tarps to see what kind of materials i have that i could use for the floor. i really want it to look rustic and be totally solid.
i found a bunch of 2X6's and a few random 2x8s and am hoping its enough to cover the whole loft floor. and went to work, pulled a lot of nails and scrapped a bunch of concrete off the lumber and started to put them in place. it appears that i will have just the right amount. its amazing to me that so many time i am down to just the last of something.
and there she is DONE!!! well almost done, i have everything lined up where i want them i just need to screw them down and that will be my job for tomorrow. i spent a little bit of chill time up here today to call momma jo jo to tell her the good news. love and miss you mom
