nothing but tracks...

i absolutely loved this sign when i came across it. i wish there were more people out in the back country who abide by this motto. it amazes me that while they love to be out and explore and find their own adventure, there still seems to be evidence that they were there. thank you to all of you who practice leave no trace.

this was truly a great ride. it was a solo ride to two different waterfalls which both seemed to be a bit of a let down. (i wasn't able to get to either of them) but the ride and the serenity of it all was simply wonderful.
the day before torrey, mose, and i rode in elk meadows (yes we saw elk, 6 to be exact. they were bedded down in the meadow) the ride was great, started off with a couple miles up a gravel road then hit a section of technical single track, rode through a spectacular meadow, followed the tree line to a hidden little lake and wound back into the trees. the whole ride was a blast.
even toby (mose's dog) came with us.

the week before we hiked into GOAT LAKE, which i must say is AMAZING. the water, the glacier, the mountain peaks, the hike, all of it was a MUST GO SEE, MUST GO DO.
goat lake
my feet picture (haven't done one of these in a while) no i didn't need the gaiters on here, but while coming down from the lake through some really lose rocks, they were a great idea, also i would recommend trekking poles for the decent.
heart lake... this was a solo hike. i hiked to six different mountain lakes this day, it was one of those days that i just wanted to be out and enjoy my mother earth alone. i saw one guy for about 30 seconds my whole day. it was exactly what i was needing. i love how i live in a place of solitude and adventure is around every corner.
working on hides. i have a few more pictures to add to this next time of actually scraping hides. i sure do enjoy it. even though it is really hard work the end product is totally worth it. i just finished a perfect summer top
the galena grinder bike race. sadly i wasn't able to race this year, i was all ready to race and a few days before my back went out and that was that. oh well such is life, on the positive side of it, i can ride these trails any day i want and not have to wonder who is coming up on me, or suck someone's dust.

erin, jawn, drew, and torrey all raced. they all had a great time, both torrey and erin rode a section for me. it was great.

well until next time. gnar, gnar, sicki, sicki, pow, pow!!!
