the weather is changing, which only means the cold air and white stuff is right around the corner. grandpa mcclammy gifted me a chainsaw and i want to again THANK HIM. thanks grandpa, what a help it was to have my own saw this year. this pile was about three times this big when i was finished harvesting down and dead trees. i wanted to keep the diameter small (so i didn't have to chop more than i needed to) as it turns out, i chopped about 50% of the wood i harvested. i felt good about that.
outside my cabin bucking up the logs, getting ready to chop and stack them. notice the empty space in front of the cabin. soon it will be filled up.
and there you have it. nicely chopped and stacked. its hard to tell from this picture but i now have five rows of wood. im ready for the winter. it is such a great feeling to know that i am able to do this kind of work on my own. i did about 98% of it on my own. again thanks grandpa (did you notice i also had the chaps on)

Haven't been on blogging or checking a long time, but it is really nice to see you. You look healthy and happy and your little cabin is awesome. So staying put in Idaho for the fall?
