oh dear... i mean DEER

okay here is another one of my posts that some of you wont like looking at (like the buffalo process pictures) CJ and spencer gave me a couple of hides from last year, i wanted to share with each of you the process of scrapping a hide.

this hide had just been taken out of the freezer after storing it for the winter. i was in the process if pulling it out flat.
soaking it in the stream (in horse creek, my favorite place)

okay at this point it has soaked for about 24 hours and is ready for some scrapping. this is the flesh side (duh) and im ready to scrap the rest of the flesh and fat off.

hair side, this is a much bigger and harder job. sadly i forgot to take any more pictures of the hide after this point. i finished scrapping the hair off and it is again in the freezer waiting for me to be able to finish the tanning process. more to come...
