all good things come to an end...

what a simple and beautiful ride. my adventure across the west has been well the best! i have loved the simpleness of the days the pleasure of the peaceful nights, the toughness of the climbs, the friendships formed with not only just cono and eileen, but with betsy (the van) and pokey and gumby their mascots, and all the wonderful riders and people we met along the way. i love being on the bike, i love feeling the wind on my face and see the miles past as i discover the serenity of life and its wonders. i have once again discovered who i am, the kandis that is today.

as the days passed my legs became stronger as well as my back, and my smile got bigger and our laughs much more from the inners of the belly. (good stories to be told later) i have fallen in love again, in love with mother nature and her wonderfully beautiful gifts.

WE MADE IT!!!

mark jenkins said... what gets the equivalent of 1,000 miles to the gallon, doesn't pollute, will save the world, and transport you in breezy style? YOUR BIKE! and so true it is.

the ride was quite the journey and even though eileen had a bit of a injury to nurse along the way she was able to keep on keeping on, endure some painful miles and finish hard. cono also had a strong finish, 4,317 miles across this country. WOW

i had made a goal in missoula to try and get in a third of the biking, since my main gig was to be the support in betsy (the van), not only did i make my goal but i passed it and did exactly 50% of the miles. all with only a few days of back pain. i too came in strong... well sort of the head wind was a bit difficult, but with CJ on my mind i dug deep and pushed though, after all pain is always temporary. as cono says the minds gives out way before the body will, and i will add to that, don't let it over take you. STAY FOCUSED.

more beauty found than one will ever see from a car. GET OUT AND RIDE!

and there she is the pacific ocean in all her beauty. WHAT AN ADVENTURE!!!

All I can really say is "WOW"

Loved all the pictures and hearing your thoughts.

I'd like to know where the covered bridge is. Who knows, some day I may
be able to visit it.

Love you. MOM
