chase, my shadow...

so far oregon has turned out to be just as beautiful as idaho and montana. actually what is really funny, is five years ago, i was on this exact route (well parts of it) when i was on michaels 12,000 mile bicycle ride. (yes 12,000 not a typo). i have truly enjoyed being back in the area. today we rode though the john day area. simply put it is BEAUTIFUL.

eileen is nursing a hurt foot, which has given me a little more time to ride, i feel extremely sad for her. i know this is totally bumming her out. and i know what it is like to be injured and not be able to do what you love. tomorrow we will be going to a clinic to get it checked out to make sure that she is not hurting it in any way. maybe a few more rest days and she will be back on the bike. speaking of injuries, my back is DOING GREAT. i really honestly can't believe how well it has done, i started off with small miles but have been able to get in good miles the last week. my goal is to do 1/3 of the ride and so far i have done just under 1/2 the miles. which makes me really smile. however i think i will have some shorter riding days coming up. oh well life is great.

one of the lovely spots i hung out today. did some yoga and enjoyed the morning sun.

aaaahhhhhh yes. the strawberry mountains, i hear there are some really nice mountain lakes and water falls up there. this is one of the nicest days we have had all trip. i actually got a little but too much sun today, more sunscreen tomorrow.

the beauty of the simple things in life

resting in the park. talked with erin adams and tried to formulate some kind of plan as to where and meet up for our next adventure.

this is chase... my shadow, no matter how hard i try she is just always a foot or two in front of meet, she is one hard one to catch.

the john day river

i also talked with MG today, got the big news that she is getting married in august, so i told her i would ride the rest of the day for her. well this is what it looked like MG, not bad huh?

my time on the bike was been wonderful, im thinking i need another good ride this summer, or maybe this winter in a warmer place like arizona, or better yet NEW ZEALAND. maybe that will be around the corner.

cj i rode a bunch today for you as well. thought about you all day. really happy that your headed to duke hospital tomorrow. i love you. today i meet a guy who manages the place we are staying. he told me about some hard things in his life and i told him about you, we both cried. it was one of those sweet moments where we both just understood that life is hard. i wanted to lean right over the counter and give the man a kandis hug.

well that is it for now. love you all. keep being who you are, its the best way to be happy!!!
