cabin building part 17...

if you look back to "cabin building part 11) you will see the start of working on my front door.  i got it stained a light barn wood look and it turned out really cool looking.  the door was salvaged and i did find a salvaged deadbolt and one more hinge to be ready to install it. 

monday night after work, dad, mom and i bundled up and grabbed our headlights and a lantern and went to work.  i was pretty nervous about my door frame, hoping i made it the right size.  since dad has a little experience i had him do the chisel work.

and after a little work the door is hanging really nicely.  still need to put on the deadbolt and do a little more trim work on it, but my door is in.  oh also im planning on making a handle out of antler. 

and i have my first visitor.  thanks mom and dad for your help, it sure is great having such wonderful parents.  love you both.
