so living in boulder has HUGE benefits, one of which is the hiking. AND I LOVE IT!!! i can step out my door and within a five minute walk be on the slick rock. these pictures where taken on three different hikes i did this last week. all within a 10 minute drive. I LOVE IT HERE!
i love this sand, it shows only life of the wind that had swept down this wash.

aaaahhhhhh love at first sight. i was told this is part of a moki marble. i believe it is a women holding her child close to her heart. (not a big toe) ((thanks darren))
rock art out on the hayman bench area. this panel is nice because 95% of it was hands. don't see that too often.
my feet will touch this land more than yours... JEALOUS ARE YOU?

some little critter was having fun here. i think he was a bit confused as to which way to go.
when i got down into this little tight squeeze of a place, i looked up only to see some lightning, so sadly i turned around and headed up, out of the flash flood area. (yes im smart mom) didn't rain when i was out, and still had a great time exploring higher up. in fact, im really glad i came up because i scouted out where im hiking tomorrow with caroline (my other new hiking buddy)

k here is the rest of my cottage, notice the wood stove is now all hooked up. i should be getting wood this weekend. weather is changing nights are really cold but, my cottage is insulated GREAT so i have been good. dad look at the nice little wood box i built in the corner. PROUD FATHER RIGHT???well until next time. hope you all enjoy.

ah, yes, you KNOW i wanna play! and not to be the corrector, but it is Haymaker Bench...you were close. haha. not that names really matter in God's Country. it's all Blessed.
I think that little channel at the bottom of Dry Hollow is exactly where i dropped into the wash. then i popped back out of it not too far downstream for easier slickrock hiking.at some point we gotta hit the middle section - and I'll show you the lower Dry Hollow but with the old wagon trail too...
No wonder you love Boulder. The pic's were great!!! Glad you are getting to spend so much time hiking,etc. Enjoy the blue skies!!!
