so my newest friend william, called me on tuesday night and said "im gonna be in boulder wednesday, want to go for a hike" of course i did. his plans were to stay wednesday night and leave in the morning heading towards jackson hole WY for the summer. we had a great hike to upper calf creek (one of my favorites especially when its really hot out to jump in) not hot enough for a swim but a good hike for sure.
one of his many fun face pictures. so after the hike we went to kerton (a devotional sing / chant) thing that i do every week. while there i told some friends that we were going on a field trip the next day at school to see a few places where people lived off the grid and used different means for electricity. william wanted to go so he said, i will just leave the next day...
inside grant and sue's place. yep they live in a cave, they are still working on it, and their is still much to get done, the whole cave is 5500 square feet, its HUGE. we really enjoyed hearing about their ideas and seeing their lifestyle.
the bathroom
the view out on of the many big windows. spring is here the trees are blooming. we then headed to roys place ate lunch and saw a little about his home, he uses solar. then back on the bus to fosters to see their windmills. sorry no pictures my camera battery died.
so william had a great time and was glad he stayed to hang out. after the field trip we ran into david holliday and he invited us for dinner on friday, (im thinking well i might go but william will be leaving in the morning) or so we thought.... thats right he thought well "i will just leave a day later, which would be saturday
so we hung out at davids for a while before dinner was ready, we found a fun little place to play on the rocks
william is a rock climber and couldn't resist. he came down because he decided his climbing shoes would be a great idea to go the whole way. so dinner was great, with good friends and great food (thanks jill) we ended up hanging out their all night and into the morning actually. we enjoyed our time. we didn't get to bed till about 1:00 am so we slept in a bit before he would be leaving (or so we thought)
we decided why not one more day. in fact why not another hike. the weather was crazy but we thought it called for a adventure, we bundled up and headed for the mountain. the rain turned to freezing rain, then slush, then snow, but we were up for it. the hike was great we summit ted in about 11 minutes (see picture above) which very well could of been slow due to the heavy winds and blizzard conditions. i now call this hike the "i will leave tomorrow hike" because we laughed at how many times he said those exact words.
back to lower elevation (the wind and snow died down)
just having funafter our hike we decided we would go find a good spot to do a little slackline... what is it you ask...

well i had fun. lots of fun; and leaving "tomorrow" is a much better option than leaving "today" for sure.
p.s. thanks for the adventures
That looks like so much fun...you haven't changed a bit...always up for anything!
You are sure having some great fun down there in Boulder. As usual, I so enjoyed the awesome pictures. Love you. MOM
those are claret cup. i love them so much. here's a little fact that maybe you already know....only hummingbirds feed on the nectar of those particular cacti.
