the walker, and much much more...

aaaahhhh what a spring it has been. i feel totally blessed to have had yet another AMAZING weekend. it actually started on wednesday of last week. where to begin, first i took the students to escalante to practice on the track for their upcoming track meet, on the way home, i saw this guy on the road with a back pack and walking stick just walking along. i wanted to stop the car so badly and get out and talk with him to see what he was all about. what his story was, but since i had the kids i kept driving and left it at that. after school i met up with mair, ryan and amber (from torrey) they wanted to go for a hike with water so yep, i took them to upper calf creek. wondering now how many times i will do that hike, the closest place with water, but i love it and we had a great time.
a nice cactus bloom

playing in the water at the upper falls swimming hole, you can hardly see amber in the picture she decided to jump a few seconds after them. they loved it there. after the hike we went to kirtan that night and enjoyed some more good chanting and drumming. im really enjoying my time here.
thursday was school, but then i headed over the mountain to hang out for the weekend and go to the clinic, after my doctor appointment i was driving back into town (torrey) and saw "THE WALKER" yea the guy i had seen a couple days before and 40 miles later there he is so i jump out of the truck and start talking with him. NICE GUY (ian) i invited him to play some soccer at the park and then kirtan and then of course to camp out in sand creek with me. (he seemed nice enough) so there you have it he excepted the invite we had a great time, on friday i took him to the green house and chris (the worker guy) said he could stay for a while in the trailer and do a work trade for food and a place to stay. so i dropped off ian went to the dentist and then met up with them later for a really good potluck with a bunch of friends, followed by the full moon dance. yes ian came. he was great. im glad i had the chance to talk with him, i have been thinking about a long walk myself and talking with him about it has re confirmed to me that i would like to do it.
i slept out on the mountain that night by myself and watched the moon through the aspen trees. IT WAS WONDERFUL. early next morning back into town to do my CPR training and guess what... i got a phone call from cindy and erin martha (friends from collage) said they were passing through so.....

i invited them for a hike and camp out. they are hanging out in michigan for school and are on a summer road trip with their friend voss. we had a blast on the hike in the gulch.

the girls

didn't know voss took this picture of us, but i like it so i thought i would include it.

we found this sand hill and skied down it. we called it the "oh shit" (sorry mom) hill because all of us said it as we came flying down it, we liked it so much we did it on our way out as well.

onto the food. dinner was awesome veggies and together with rice and quinoa onto of some hamburgers, with sweet potato fries and to wash it all down some oreo's and popcorn. WHAT A FEAST

ooppppss put it in twice

all gathered around. we camped out and enjoyed the one day old full moon. went to church the next day, enjoyed the community potluck and off they went.
i have had such a great spring with so many friends randomly stopping by. thanks again guys good times all around.

Kandis,

Whoa. I didn't know those photos were going on the internet. Darn good thing I kept my skivies on.

Didn't know you were a blogger -- I'll have to follow along from now on. Check out my blog some time -- lots of anti-oreo nutrition information! :-)

Amber and I had a great time with you Boulderanians. We'll send you our photos when we get a chance. We'll see you around the mountain, lady!

With Love,
Ryan (and Amber and Jesse)
