this is the last day that i will walk over and see this ridiculous ugly tarping system, thanks to patrick, blake, mom, dad, and everyone else who has helped up to this point in building my cabin. TARP has become the biggest four letter word this summer and fall. but thankfull those days are OVER!!!
my great friend patrick came down from the north to help with the sheeting of the roof. first thing i asked him when he got here was how much do you know about roofing... he smiled and said quite a lot, i have been on a roofing crew before. that was all that i needed and really WANTED to hear. so i told him he was in charge of the day and to put blake and i to work. he said he didn't see any reason why we couldn't sheet and have the tin on my the end of the day, that of course put a HUGE smile on my face and so off to work we went.
i was amazed at how fast and efficient patrick worked and blake and i along with mom all made a great team. i just feel so blessed to have great people in my life. patrick kept saying "my goal is for you not to have to TARP ever again"
about an hour into the day i started to call patrick my monkey man, cause he was swinging from rafter to rafter and jumping up and down and running up the ladder... i think to myself he must of had a power bar for breakfast.
blake way to put your full body into it. i love you blake, im so glad we are such great friends. i love you brother.

while blake and patrick were putting on the tar paper mom and i were getting the tin roofing ready to go up. Thanks to the bates family i have a nice pile of salvaged tin roofing.

all the tin was already the perfect length except for 7 pieces, we changed the blade on the skill saw and all seven were cut at one time.
almost done with the first side. i was amazed at how fast this was going up.
as soon as we decided to start the second side, the rain started and didn't stop until late into the night, but still no tarping! patrick and blake were such troopers. we worked hard and fast and got the second side up just in time for the light to be leaving us. patrick got the top couple of rows screwed in and blake and i finished the bottom with a headlight. (the middle section would have to wait for daylight).
Patrick your amazing! i thank you so much for your help. tell kamber and the girls thanks as well. my stress level went away and a smile is on my face.
