elizabeth, jess, and i headed to cannonville to go hiking with roy, and wife (aka philly). we did two different short hikes. the first one was round valley draw. there was a nice little rappel into the cannon. the walls were narrow and steep.

i joked with jess telling him his pants blended into the rock so he looks like he is naked in his harness. after jess rappelled in he wanted to try and climb it, he did really well considering he had big hiking boots on and not a lot to hold onto.

we had roy's three dogs with us. we had to harness them up and lower them down some of the more tricky sections.

SO awesome. i am definitely jealous!
for my slackline i just bought about 75 feet of webbing at REI and 3 symmetrical caribiners. I think it cost about 35 bucks total. the down-side to this method is you have to know how to strand it all together (which is easy to learn), though I see it as a "better" way to do it.
Other slackline kits out there have a rachet tensioner so that you can set it up by yourself (the old-school method sometimes requires 2 or more people to pull it tight).
My slackline words great; it's the 1 inch wide tube webbing. hope this helps.
p.s. by saying my slackline "words" great, i mean it "works" great.
