what a great weekend! it started thursday after our field trip with the school. we had gone out on the hole in the rock road to show the kids some dinosaur tracks. jess had driven elizabeths truck and met us at the trail head. after the field trip was over we asked roy if he would let elizabeth and us off the bus and to go hike spooky and peekaboo slot canyons. i really didn't think he would let us, but he did! it was great, we left the kids and headed out the road. a long 30 mile drive on washboard gravel. we first went through peekaboo and then spooky. in spooky we were in a silly mood and we kept hiding from each other and then would scare each other. it was a blast. these are two of my favorite slot canyons i have ever been in.

dark and narrow. this is in spooky. it started to get dark. we planned it just right and made it out right as the sun was coming down.

friday darren and i headed up to the mountain to hike. this was in kings pasture. it's funny that just the night before i was hiking in the desert in a T-shirt and the next day i was hiking in cold weather (through a little snow at parts). can you see the ice in the river? it was cool, but beautiful
hide and seek, as we came around the corner almost into the meadow we say some elk, i think there was six of them. they are such beautiful animals. we also saw what i think was a ferret.

sunday after church we headed out to haymaker bench. it was a nice hike. darren and i have done parts of this hike before, but we wanted to show jess and elizabeth. it was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun exploring.

Hey that's cool! I like the picture that you're using for the title of this blog. I went camping in the Dragoon Mtns. last weekend with Jo and Porter, and where we camped I found a yucca stalk that had freshly fallen to the ground, so I took it and made a fire-plow and started us a cooking fire. It was a blast!
such great hikes. still jealous i did not get to do the slots with you . but i forgive you . haha

i'm about to make my next didge out of PVC. I don't know what happened to the last one I made years ago. PVC actually makes a pretty good dige.
As far as circular breathing goes, I can do it. What I did to start was take a straw and a cup of water and practice blowing constant bubbles for many minutes. Starting small like that helps practice technique before moving to the big instruments like a didgeridoo.
