as some of you know aspen trees are my favorite and leaving boulder was hard because boulder mountain has the largest growth of aspen trees in the world. coming here i thought they would have some, but oh no, they are hard to be found, pine trees everywhere i look but aspen few and far in between. HOWEVER there is this one spot down at corral creek where i like to bike (see above) and camp, usually this spot is always taken, but a few nights ago when i rolled into camp after 11:00 pm i was surprised that no one was at my favorite spot, so under the stars i slept and opened my eyes in the morning to this..... LOVELY i think
this is the top of mt baldy, its a 3300 foot elevation gain in 5.2 miles and (by the way its sun valley ski resorts mountain) i really had no desire to hike it other then to say "yes i have hiked baldy" it was stormy and cold by the time i got to the top. i made it with four minutes to spare to get a ride down, no not on the chair lift, due to the lightning and thunder, but in the work truck. the last mile up i was pretty sure they wouldn't let me take the chair lift (and i didn't want to) i was hoping they would let me take the work truck down, which they did, so now i can say "yes i have hiked baldy, and never again" there are much better things to hike, but i did it and that is that.
on sunday (yes mom AFTER church) i went for a nice scenic drive and found a place called big creek falls, so i jumped out of the truck took off the moccasin's and headed up stream to find this wonderful place, i had it to myself, did some meditation and yoga at the top of the falls
a full shot, k well that was my weekendpeace, love, and kombucha (by the way today is bottling and brewing day)
