24 mile hike...

so after being in boulder for 3 weeks, the ryans, and phil pulled my arm, twisted, and begged me to stay for one more week so that i could go with them backpacking. oh my gosh, it was a blast. we started up at round up flats (the summit of boulder mountain) and 24 miles later we ended up at the bridge in long canyon. we dropped over 4000 feet of elevation. started in aspen trees and ended in red rock temple canyons.
phil taking a break
the first place we camped in a nice oak grove
phil and my shelter. you can't really tell here but we stacked oak leaves about 3 feet deep. it made for a nice mattress.
unfortunately my camera ran out of batteries somehow the first day so i don't have any more pictures of the trip, however phil has some so when i get them i will add them to the blog.
i have wanted to do this hike for the last year, i was very thankful that i was included. good times all around.

you are probably going to be sad, but if you come back through SLC you may need to come see us. We are moving to Connecticut at the end of December. The backpacking trip looks awesome.
