gnar-gnar-sicki-sicki-pow-pow...

well the time has come and the season has started. we opened on saturday nov 21st. the ground is covered in white stuff which means only one thing, the FUN has started. i have been out a number of times on snowshoes packing out the trails for our guest. but the best was yesterday, when a few of us headed up towards the pass and SKIED THE CROSS. yep november 22nd first day back on the tele skis.
getting ready to skin up the cross. driving up, we were a bit skeptical of the snow dept, but once on the snow we realized it would be pretty good.
erin, me, don, and mike (joe and john not in picture) skinning up the cross (a popular ski run close to the lodge).
erin getting excited to rip it up
taking off my skins and getting ready to tele-ski. it has been a while since i have skied. living in boulder last year i didn't get to tele at all. i was a bit shaky but i will get my tele legs back. need to start doing my lounges again.

the ski down was great, too short, but a wonderful ride none the less. a start to a GREAT WINTER.

So sad we won't get to come up and see you and that beautiful area! How lucky are you to be up there? These photos make me jealous.
