bike crit, dance party, bc skiing, and more...

so every year under the radar galena puts on what we call the BIKE CRIT, basically its just a bunch of friends trying to bike on snow. sounds easy, but really its like biking in really deep sand. part of the festival is dressing up. this is jawn
me... i just came down off the roller and headed into the berm. looks easy, but really the start of the race was on really SOFT snow and i was falling all over the place, i have the bruises to prove it. (im even wearing my new leg warmers that kristen made me)

there really wasn't any winners or losers, but im pretty sure that jawns team finished first and mine finished last. ahhhhh it was such a great time. we decided that biking wasn't enough to finish off that night so we had a pot luck AND dance party...

so there were a few shots to be had, everyone was doing whiskey shots but ME, i did a kombucha shot. i loved it. since simone was so much shorter than everyone else her whiskey went all over her face!!!
dancing it up, yep at times i was the only one dancing. jawn and i had a dance off, everyone laughed. its was pretty out of control for sure.

all in all the bike race and dance party was a success. life is fun here at galena

yes mom, i wear a helmet (every time i bc ski) actually everyone makes fun of me and says i should always wear it, nordic skiing, snowshoeing and just walking around, cause i hit my head so much.

alex got caught in a huge avalanche the other day (he is okay) but he is really lucky, it was pretty scary to hear about and to see the pictures. he came out of it with a sore leg and one lost pole, and one broken ski. HE IS BLESSED, and he knows it.
matt and katie, matt has worked up at galena a little this last year, i originally met up with him in boulder (weird huh) and now he has moved to spokane (elk area) so he had a going away party.

well that is the update, life is fun and good, and GREAT. galena is wrapping up for the season, we close in one month and then i will have two months off to travel and play and watch jessie bob get married. life is WONDERFUL. love you all
