to ride above the mountains...

so here i am just about to embark on one of the more amazing rides of my life. my bishop (who i consider my friend) took me for a plane ride up over Galena (where i work) it was absolutely amazing to see the land from a different angle. it is all perspective when it comes to seeing God's land. His masterpiece. i looked out over mountains, that i have hiked hours and hours to reach my destination only to have gotten there in short moments in the plane, and my perspective changed dramatically. "the mountains are calling RUN AWAY" -john muir-

to run away into the mountains, in my opinion is not running away from life or trials, or anything for that matter. to run away into the mountains is to find yourself. i would rather be lost in the woods, than found at home. the mountains are my saving grace. i have learned who i am, and i feel i am close to God. i feel His love and in return what have i to give Him??? LOVE, love is what i have to give Him back.

my time in the air was absolutely wonderful. here are a few pictures of my adventure...
yep, a bit like Top Gun (i even wore my patrol sunglasses)
boulder mountains
just south of galena lodge
looking down on galena lodge. the only thing between sun valley/ketchum and stanley idaho. it has been a blessing to live here, to find peace and solitude in my days.
these are some of the mountains that i have gone back country skiing in. the first one is the cross, and then to the right is avalanche bowl. AMAZING
galena peak

this is the town of ketchum/sun valley with mt. baldy in the back ground. no i haven't skied there due to the 85.00 lift ticket. but i have hiked it in the summer time.

well thanks again bishop, it was a wonderful way to end my day.
